This Read Me is designed to help you to get optimum results from this CD-Rom. The CD-Rom will run best if you close down any other applications which you may have open. This will automatically give you the maximum RAM available in your machine. The more applications which you leave open, the slower this CD-Rom will run.

The CD-rom comes free with Creative Review magazine for all subscribers. It is designed to be complementary to the written word in bringing you the latest creative work in moving pictures - video, audio and graphics in a multimedia format.

MINIMUM SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
We have created this product to run on a system with the following minimum specification:
Apple Macintosh with a 68040 processor (LC 475 or later)
8Mb RAM (with 4Mb spare - unused by the system)
14 inch colour monitor (standard 14 inch Apple colour monitor)
Double speed CD-Rom drive (most Apple CD-Rom drives are double speed)
System 7.0 or later
QuickTime 2.0
Sound Manager 3.0
This product needs all the above items to run. You need QuickTime 2.0 or later, and Sound Manager 3.0 or later to run the Creative Review CD-Rom. These are included in the folder marked Items For System Folder. Apple MultiMedia Tuner and Power Plug for Power Mac machines are also included.. (Please refer to the Apple licence information included in the Legal Read Me file for usage limitations). The software loaded is Apple system software, and will not conflict with any other Apple standard software. However, you may experience problems with some third-party Extensions and Control Panel documents. Apple's Extensions Manager Control Panel, if installed, may help you disable conflicting items in your System Folder.
The movies on this disc will run at optimum quality if you view this product on a 16-bit display - a monitor running in thousands of colours. The Creative Review CD-Rom will run on an 8-bit monitor, but will look better with thousands of colours. The CD-Rom automatically looks at your system, and will work at 16-bit if available.

4. Export Law Assurances. You agree and certify that neither the Software nor any other technical data received from Centaur Communications Limited, nor the direct product thereof, will be exported outside the United States except as authorised and as permitted by the laws and regulations of the United States. If the Software has been rightfully obtained by you outside of the United States, you agree that you will not re-export the Software nor any other technical data received from Centaur Communications Limited, nor the direct product thereof, except as permitted by the laws and regulations of the United States and the laws and regulations of the jurisdiction in which you obtained the Software.
5. Government End Users. If you are acquiring the Software and fonts on behalf of any unit or agency of the United States Government, the following provisions apply. The Government agrees:
1) if the Software and fonts are supplied to the Department of Defence (DoD), the Software and fonts are classified as "Commercial Computer Software" and the Government is acquiring only "restricted rights" in the Software, its documentation and fonts as that term is defined in Clause 252.227-7013(c)(1) of the DFARS; and
2) if the Software and fonts are supplied to any unit or agency of the United States Government other than DoD, the Government's rights in the Software, its documentation and fonts will be as defined in Clause 52.227-19(c)(2) of the FAR or, in the case of NASA, in Clause 18-52.227-86(d) of the NASA Supplement to the FAR.
6. Limited Warranty on Media. Centaur Comunications Limited warrants the diskettes and/or compact disc on which the Software and fonts are recorded to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of purchase as evidenced by a copy of the receipt. Centaur Communications Limited's entire liability and your exclusive remedy will be replacement of the diskettes and/or compact disc not meeting Centaur Communications Limited's limited warranty and which is returned to Centaur Communications Limited or an Centaur Communications Limited authorised representative with a copy of the receipt. Centaur Communications Limited will have no responsibility to replace a disk/disc damaged by accident, abuse or misapplication. 9. Controlling Law and Severability. This Licence shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of California, as applied to agreements entered into and to be performed entirely within California between California residents. If for any reason a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision of this Licence, or portion thereof, to be unenforceable, that provision of the Licence shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible so as to effect the intent of the parties, and the remainder of this Licence shall continue in full force and effect.
10. Complete Agreement. This Licence constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the use of the Software, the related documentation and fonts, and supercedes all prior or contemporaneous understandings or agreements, written or oral, regarding such subject matter. No amendment to or modification of this Licence will be binding unless in writing and signed by a duly authorised representative of Centaur Communications Limited.
